What is Server?
Server is basically a thing which
serves and share things to others. In computers Server is a computer or
a program for creating a network between client and server to available their
resources or information according to the request of their client
(personal computer). If you not understand this then, I can explain you with
example. We can take example of teacher and students. Imagine teacher as a server
and students as clients. The teacher (server) share their knowledge with
students (clients).Like that server share their resources or information
according to their client request. Server shared resources can be files.
Printer, processing power etc. Server is component of network hardware.
Server computers are more powerful than client computers. The different
software are requires to run server computers. The software running on
the server is called Network Operating system (NOS).To run NOS
(network operating system), the server computer at least with Pentium
processor and 32 Mb RAM. The NOS provide network environment for server
and client.
